Coldpay Headlines Itunes SXSW Festival Day 1

One of the most anticipated events of SXSW festival was the first night of the I-Tunes stage at the Moody Theater at Austin City Limits Live downtown, where, Coldplay made their return to the American stages along with Imagine Dragons and London Grammar.

With both opening bands having declared themselves as Coldplay fans and heavily influenced by Coldplay’s music, the atmosphere at the 2,700 seat Moody Theater was one of high emotions.

The powerful and haunting voice of London Grammar’s lead singer Hannah Reid soared over the crowd and seemed to hypnotize the audience as they were enthralled by her beautiful voice.  London Grammar is definitely a band to keep on your musical radar.

Living up to their reputation, Imagine Dragons played an energetic show filled with anthemic radio friendly sing along tunes that kept the audience warmed up for the headliners.

With their sixth album, Ghost Stories coming out soon, Coldplay tried out four new songs, beginning with “Always In My Head”, but hits like “Clocks”, “Paradise” and “Viva La Vida” took the audience to another level.

Lead singer, Chris Martin, as usual, gave a dramatic and emotional performance, especially when he dedicated “Fix You” to those involved in the Malaysian missing airplane.
