She adds, “As a Mexican-American artist, the desire to reconnect with my heritage through my music was always a viscous cycle in my mind filled with negativity and self doubt. Since writing and releasing my debut Spanish track ‘Soy Lo Que Soy’ last year, things haven’t felt the same. The dots have connected in a way that I could have never anticipated. When I decided to cut a Spanish version of ‘Get You High’, everything came together in a magical way. The vocal session was liberating and empowering and all of my doubts were almost redirected in a way to feed me the confidence I needed. ‘Get You High’ didn’t quite have her moment in the spotlight in 2018, now it’s her time.”
MONOGEM has already opened for artists such as Christine & The Queens, Y La Bamba, Allie X, Betty Who, Nilufer Yanya, LPX and praised by publications such as Billboard, Refinery29, ELLE, The FADER, E! News, Good Morning America, NYLON, PAPER, Wonderland, Interview and more…
