GRAMMY Museum® in Collaboration with The Latin Recording Academy® Unveils Latin GRAMMY®, 20 YEARS of Excellence

To celebrate the milestone 20th anniversary of the Latin GRAMMY Awards®, the GRAMMY Museum® unveiled the Latin GRAMMY®, 20 Years Of Excellence exhibit with a full day of programming, including an educational program for students featuring OzoKids; a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Gabriel Abaroa Jr., President/CEO of The Latin Recording Academy®Michael Sticka, President of the GRAMMY Museum, along with Latin GRAMMY® and GRAMMY® nominee Ángela Aguilar and Latin GRAMMY winner Christian Nodal, local government officials and prestigious Latin artists and personalities; as well as performances at the Clive Davis Theater by Latin GRAMMY winner Flor de Toloache and Latin GRAMMY and GRAMMY nominee Raquel Sofía.

Working in collaboration with The Latin Recording Academy, the Museum renovated its third floor in order to expand its Latin-themed exhibits to showcase the power of Latin music as it continues to grow as one of the leading influences worldwide.

Exhibit highlights include:

  • Instruments played by Latin GRAMMY and GRAMMY winners, including Lila DownsBanda El RecodoLos Tucanes De TijuanaAlejandro Sanz, and Julieta Venegas
  • Juan Gabriel’s tuxedo from his memorable 40-minute performance at the 10th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards®
  • Luis Fonsi’s outfit from his performance of “Despacito” at the 18th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards®
  • Ricky Martin’s paint-stained tuxedo shirt from his performance with the Blue Man Group at the 8th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards®
  • Alex González from Maná’s first professional drum set
