26-year-old Alex Ponce from Ecuador is making waves on the music and social media platforms. With 2.3 Million followers on his TikTok and almost a million followers on Instagram, Ponce’s music has been getting noticed. Alex Ponce has had a busy 2024 schedule from having his tour in Latin America, Daria Todo tour to briefly touring with Juanes and now being the opener for Lasso’s tour. Musica Roots: Your signature look is your headphones with your guitar, does it symbolize something in your music journey?
Alex Ponce: The headphones is to cancel out the noise and allow people to focus on the music. Headphones can seem like a time to meditate and just allow whatever you are listening is your focus and not have any distractions.
Musica Roots: What did it mean for you to tour with Juanes and can we expect a collab in music in the future?
Alex Ponce: It was great. Juanes was my inspiration to be in the music industry. He is the reason on how I learned and played the guitar. I hope one day we can make music together.

Alex Ponce: The albums will be coming out on October 24, 2024—hopefully another solo tour in 2025.
