Sam Smith teams up with Spanish artist Aitana for a fresh rendition of “Like I Can,” marking the 10th anniversary of his debut album ‘In the Lonely Hour,’ which achieved 6x Platinum status and won a Grammy.
The GRAMMY®, BRIT, Golden Globe and Oscar winning artist, Sam Smith created a new version of his 2X Platinum single, ‘Like I Can’ featuring Spanish pop star, Aitana. Celebrating the decade that has transpired since his multiplatinum debut ‘In the Lonely Hour,’ Sam wanted to create a special version of the hit included in his debut, specially dedicated to his Spanish fans.
“I’ve always been delighted by my Spanish fans, and I wanted to create a new version of ‘Like I Can’ for Spanish language speakers worldwide. Aitana and I performed at the same festival this year in Mexico, and although I couldn’t see her perform, I heard all the comments she sparked and I contacted her so she could participate in this project. I’m very thankful that one of the new stars of this generation created such an incredible interpretation of this song, and I’m hoping my little Spanish sailors can listen to it,” says Sam about the collaboration.
“Collaborating with Sam has been truly a dream come true. Being able to collaborate and contribute something to such a beautiful project has been incredible and I’m profoundly grateful. Sam is an artist I admire very much,” Aitana added.
