As part of their “Trilogy Tour,” Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, and Pitbull made new stops in some North American cities in less than six months, having already had a triumphant performance in each of them in the Fall of 2023. These cities were: Fresno, San Francisco, Palm Desert, Anaheim, Oklahoma City, Austin, Fort Worth, Denver, Saint Paul, Kansas City, Montreal, Toronto, Nashville, Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, Sunrise, and Tampa.
Each singer delivered a performance of about an hour, showcasing their best, separated by 30-minute intervals for stage changes. Unlike last year’s Fall shows, the order of artist presentations was reversed this time, with Ricky Martin being the first to take on the stage and Pitbull closing the evening, contrary to last time. In between these two, the flamenco-pop fire of Enrique Iglesias kept the energy high throughout the night.
To kick off with Caribbean flavor, the idol of many generations Ricky Martin appears first to light up the stage alongside a formula of 4 male dancers and 3 female dancers. Bursting onto the scene with two of his liveliest tunes, “Pégate” and “María,” the rhythms of Puerto Rican Bomba and Plena take over. Ricky Martin’s vigorous elegance shone from the start, maintaining that high energy with songs like “Adrenalina,” “Lola Lola,” and “La Bomba,” among others.
After this injection of flavor, he slows down with ballads like “Vuelve.” But with the imminent arrival of his hit “Livin’ la vida loca,” a complete party sets up, as the song itself invites, which Ricky crowns with “La Copa de la Vida,” the famous carnival-themed anthem that was the hymn of the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.
Next up is Enrique Iglesias, who offers a high-quality stage production above all. Cleverly playing with dynamics, modulating the show’s energy between his famous pop/reggaeton tunes and the more romantic ballads/bachata songs, the Spanish singer makes the audience vibrate. To please the multilingual audience, Enrique also alternates between English and Spanish songs, transitioning from “Be with you” and “Hero” to “Duele el corazón” and “Súbeme la radio.”
The big surprise factor of his appearance comes with an unusual stage change, moving from the main stage to a smaller stage located at the back of the tour arenas, near the south stand. In an intimate format, alongside three of his musicians and one of his backing vocalists, Enrique sings two romantic Bachata tunes, “Cuando Me Enamoro” and “Loco,” the latter performed as a duet with his backing vocalist. His participation concludes with his flamenco-pop hit “Bailando,” accompanied by black balloons with his initials “e.i.” in red floating around.
The night concludes with the explosive performance of Pitbull, who exudes the galloping energy he is known for. “Mr. Worldwide,” as he often calls himself, gets everyone on their feet chanting “Don’t stop the party,” accompanied by 6 female dancers on stage with him. Popular English songs like “International Love,” “I Know You Want Me,” and “Give Me Everything Tonight” are present in his repertoire. Additionally, he performs the song “On the Floor,” which he collaborated on with Jennifer Lopez, with images of the artist on a giant screen.
Spanning from January to March 2024, “The Trilogy Tour: The Party Continues” had the exact dosage of each pop star to blend an unforgettable musical mix amid the cold weather that characterizes this time of the year in the U.S. and Canada.
